"Orphan"
means-a person who has no one in the world, neither father,
nor mother, nor brother, nor sister. They do not receive love
and so they cannot give love to any one. They become troublesome
in the world. Their number is growing day by day. Let us remember
that it is not their fault that they have become orphans.
According to statistics, over 1.5 million children in India
are homeless, living in footpaths and in railway stations
of the major cities. These children are forced to steal and
rob in order to survive.
God created the world and the human being out of love. The
whole creation speaks of God's love. God wants us to live
in love. But we find that so many children do not receive
any love and do not know what love is. As human beings they
have the right to love and to be loved. |
 |
Can you
love them? Can you be their mother, or father or brother or
sister? Mercy Home is trying to give them love and make them
feel that they are not orphans. they grow up knowing that
they have someone to love them. We help them to grow in small
families of ten children with one dedicated woman as their
mother to help them and to look after them.
There are ten such houses with one hundred children. There
is a primary school within the compound and after completing
the primary school education they go to the near-by school
for continuing their education. The school dropouts are given
training in electric wiring, motor mechanics, driving, carpentry,
welding and electronic etc so that they can find their own
livelihood in future. |

"I
was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink,
I was a stranger and you received me in your home, naked and
you clothed me, I was sick and you took care of me, in prison
and you visited me" (Matthew 25:35-36) |
