Indian movie superstars ABHISHEK BACHCHAN and AshwariaRai have confirmed their engagement after months of speculation about their relationship.

Bachchan and former Miss World Rai sealed their engagement at a private ceremony on Sunday evening (15th January 2007) - one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar - and Abhishek is said to have placed a diamond ring on his girlfriend's finger.

Legendary actor and father of the groom-to-be, AMITABH BACHCHAN, told reporters, "No date for marriage has been fixed yet," adding that his son had proposed to Rai in New York last week after the premiere of their latest film GURU. See sexy ashwariaRai Photos here.
